The Flying

    Bourbon Brothers

Tom and Len first played together in the mudpuppies, (a once-a-year collaboration for a benefit show). Later, realizing common musical interests, with glasses of bourbon at their side, they would enjoy sitting on the deck swapping songs.  In 2007, The Flying Bourbon Brothers were born when they began performing regularly as a duo.  They are frequently joined by Eddie Puente on drums, and Earl Tyrus or Alex Esquivel on bass.  And of course, Terri Inman shows up to lend her smoky voice to the mix.

Len Briley is a 2nd generation musician.  Back in the day, his dad played drums with many of the best jazz and big bands in San Antonio and Houston.  Len has been playing most of his life, and is not only an accomplished guitarist, but a fine vocalist and writer as well.  Keeping with the family tradition, Len encourages and nurtures the love of music and performance in his daughters

The  FBB have a sound as unique as Texas.  As they perform, listen for Len’s beautiful melodic guitar leads  and Tom’s harmonica accents weaving through Tom’s steady rolling guitar groove and Eddie’s solid percussive beat.  As indicated by their moniker, Tom’s smooth vocals and Len’s warm harmonies flow through each song like well-aged bourbon.

Beginning with regular 3rd Friday gigs at OrderUp,the FBB has worked into a regular curcuit of venues, playing most Friday nights.  They have also completed their 1st CD, El Recreo including 13 original songs.
